Women have proven their unwavering resilience in the face of adversity since the beginning of time, and with large-scale social movements such as “Me Too” and “Gender Inequality,” modern American society is a poster for their determination and strength. Nevertheless, our fight seems indefinite, and we are finding ourselves engulfed in a web of anxiety, depression, conflict, and anger. We often forget about our true selves as the creators, the doers, and the visionaries of a better, more compassionate society.
The latest data from the Sustainable Development Goals, adopted by the United Nations Member States, states that the goal of achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls by 2030 is not on track.
When things are not on track, we must evolve. To evolve, we must listen. Evolving is seeking to share a collection of stories, testimonies, beliefs and advice from empowering female voices, hand-selected by EvolvED founder Amanda Antico. Made possible through a series of local grants, women will be exposed to prime examples of female success and changemaking, inspiring them in their own ventures to better society.
This project will feature 22 women changemakers who have made a significant difference by overcoming, conquering, or facing a problem head-on. They have tackled a plethora of prominent social issues such as immigration, LGBTQ+ rights, racism, addiction, climate change, political strife, and even poverty with humility, grace and dignity. Everyday comes with trials and tribulations, and tensions are running high in post-pandemic, divided America, but women continue to have so much to offer one another.
Evolving will uncover these 22 inspiring women’s unique stories as well as explore perspectives from select male allies. However, it is far more than a collection of testimonies, and it is our wish that it serves as a catalyst for action. We aim for those involved to apply the Evolving message to their own lives, finding ways to get involved in community changemaking. EVERY individual has the ability to achieve what these 22 women did, but HOW they will do this remains a question. Now more than ever, women must continue their role as the doers and advocates for a more equitable society, and we must light the path for others to achieve the same.
Through our periodic table of 59 elements (half of 118 because women get things done in half the time), we share our philosophy. From mindset, to leadership styles, to embracing community service, we are dedicated to fostering female empowerment for the social improvement of society. We must evolve, and we’d love to have you join the movement of women changemakers.
